The National Holocaust Remembrance Day Ceremony educates Canadians about the enduring lessons of the Holocaust thereby advancing truly Canadian values of equality, social inclusion and respect of human rights.
The theme of the 2017 National Ceremony is “Survivor’s Testimonies: The Fate of the Individual during the Holocaust”. Individual testimonies enable us to enrich our knowledge of the Shoah and to grasp the historical truth. It allows us to learn from its lessons to foster Canadian multiculturalism.
