Ester Driham

National Executive Director

Ester is an accomplished leader with over 15 years of experience as a professional fundraiser and a proven track record in transformative philanthropy and management. She specializes in leadership development, major gifts, and the planning and implementation of comprehensive capital campaigns within the education and non-profit sectors.

Known for her outstanding relationship-building and strategic-planning skills, Ester has devoted her career to philanthropy management. She is personally inspired by shaping the future through the promotion of pivotal support for education, academic research, and community engagement initiatives.

During her professional work at McGill University, Ester directed the development and alumni relations department of the Faculty of Law. In this role, she managed a multimillion-dollar capital campaign and secured major gifts in support of higher education from donors in Canada and globally. Working closely with McGill’s advancement team and board of directors, Ester established an active international Advisory Board for McGill’s Faculty of Law. She created innovative models for corporate giving, successfully instilled a culture of philanthropy, mentored development officers, and built high-performance teams based on best practices in fundraising.

Earlier in her career, Ester directed the “March of the Living” program while working at Federation CJA in Montreal. Following that, she was recruited to design and implement top-level leadership programs that successfully engaged young adults in pursuing leadership roles within the Jewish community. While working closely with lay leaders and managing both staff and numerous volunteers, she has always promoted a strong sense of commitment to Israel and Jewish values.

Ester holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Development and a Bachelor of Sociology and Human Services. She is a warm, enthusiastic, and charismatic individual who is motivated to make a difference.

Ester is proud to lead the Canadian Society for Yad Vashem and to strengthen and endorse the important mission of Holocaust education and remembrance. Ester lives with her family in Toronto.
