PROJECTS AT YAD VASHEM

Following is a list of immediate funding needs:

Equipment for the International School and for the Holocaust Museum including computers and projectors. These upgrades are vital to gearing up for the reopening of the Yad Vashem campus.

Scanning, digitization, and archiving documents and photos to go into YV databases. Yad Vashem continues to collect thousands of items every year.

Two research projects from the International Institute for Holocaust Studies:

  • The Untold Stories – The Murder Sites of the Jews in the former USSR. Will document the less known story of the experience of Jews of the Former Soviet Union during the Holocaust.

  • A Study of Deportations during the Holocaust. This extensive study will compare deportation sites across Europe.

Licensing of the ready2print exhibits – funds will go towards licensing new Museum quality exhibits that are available for display in schools, universities, libraries, and places of worship in Canada and around the world.

Youth Holocaust Educational Program – The Canadian Society for Yad Vashem is developing a program that utilizes the Holocaust Memorial Site at Earl Bales Park as an educational focal point for middle and high school students. To begin, the program will focus on Jewish students from the Greater Toronto area. Historians and experts from Yad Vashem Jerusalem are serving as advisors and content providers for the program.
